Services

The Extreme Railfan Redwood Empire Corporation (ERREC) is actively fundraising for The Jane Marie Revival project. This is your chance to learn more about our mission and help bring a rare piece of rail history back to life.

About the Project

ERREC is working to acquire and restore the Jane Marie, a Rock Island “Des Moines” coach built in 1947. This car served on the Golden State and Twin Star Rocket routes before being converted into a private lounge car. Today, it’s certified for Amtrak service and awaiting full restoration so it can return to the rails for charter and excursion services.

Funding and Outreach

Our efforts are supported through donations, fundraising merchandise, sponsorships, and community engagement online. 100% of proceeds go directly toward the restoration, maintenance, and operation of our historic equipment.

About ERREC

We are a nonprofit partnered with the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society, though we remain an independent organization—not a division like NM Heritage Rail. Our mission is to preserve American railroad heritage and educate the public by:

Conducting tours of passenger railcars

Owning and operating restored equipment

Building a fleet of vintage coaches for excursions

How You Can Help

We began fundraising three years ago to secure the Jane Marie. Now, we need your help to cover the purchase, transportation, and certification costs.
