🚂 Who We Are
We are Extreme Railfan Redwood Empire Corporation (ERREC) — a dedicated group of rail enthusiasts working to preserve and celebrate America's railroad history. Our mission is to acquire and operate a small fleet of historic passenger cars for future excursions and events in collaboration with New Mexico Heritage Rail, the proud operators of the newly restored Santa Fe 2926 steam locomotive.
🎯 Our Current Goal: Bring Home the Jane Marie
Our first major goal is to acquire the Jane Marie, a beautifully preserved former Rock Island lounge car. Once purchased, this car will be proudly operated behind the Santa Fe 2926 for:

We plan to be the rightful owners of this historic car and use it as the foundation of our 5-car consist, all dedicated to heritage rail excursions based in Albuquerque, NM.
🚛 Moving the Jane Marie
Once the Jane Marie is officially ours, here's the journey it will take to its new home:

Amtrak Certification – Ensuring the car is passenger-ready and fully compliant.

Transport from Chandler, AZ via Union Pacific freight to Tucson, AZ.

Hook up to Amtrak’s Sunset Limited to Los Angeles, CA.

From LA, transfer to the Southwest Chief back to Albuquerque, NM.
Once in Albuquerque, the Jane Marie will debut behind the 2926 for annual public events and tours.
🚄 Our Long-Term Vision
Our ultimate goal is to build a 5-car consist, including the Jane Marie, to operate full passenger excursions behind the 2926. Other historic cars from private owners will also join our events temporarily. Once our own set is complete, the borrowed cars will be returned, and our fleet will be stored in the Rail Runner Yard, ready for action along New Mexico’s mainline.
